I know I shouldn't moper and I shouldnt curse, but the pain feels so much worse. Cause winding up with no one is a lot less fun, than a burn from the sun.... or SAND IN YOUR BUNS!

Hola familia!!!

I was glad to finally here from Travis and know for sure that he hasn't been eaten by a lion!

This week was great because we are finding a ton of new investigators! Just this week we have 11 new people to teach! A couple of them are families and it's wonderful teaching them all together. The familia Diaz is a familia of evangelistas, and when we asked the father to say the prayer they all bowed their heads and started whispering praises at the same time out loud haha and it almost scared me! But they are a great family and they are interested about learning about Jose Smith.

Another niño Agustin (11), when we asked him which day he wanted to be baptized, he stared at the floor for a half second and then jumped  right out of his seat and exclaimed "TUESDAY"hahaha it was the cutest thing I ever saw.

We are putting together an activity to work more with the young men and women. We are going to put together a couple church songs, grab a whole bunch of Libros de Mormón and pamphlets, and go knock on all the doors of the neighborhood and invite them to listen to our mini concert right there in the roundabout. Once we've got as good crowd going, we are going to sing and then give away church materials. I love the idea and I am excited!

I think another highlight of my week was washing windows of a less active. It feels so good to clean and take a break from walking and teaching.

Oh! On Friday night we had a bunch of appointments that all falled through, and we didnt know why but we felt like we needed to go to the temple to do contacts. When we got there we found a nonmember family that was waiting outside for their son/brother/nephew who was in the marriage ceremony. They had come from far away for the wedding and weren't too pleased when they found out that they couldn't enter to attend it. We tried to explain to them the reasons why and shared our testimony about the ceremony and its sacredness in stead of secretness. I wish I could think of a better way to explain to people that principle. If you have any ideas, let me know:) But it felt good to know that we were guided by the spirit to comfort a confused family.

District activity at the temple (before they kicked us out)

We made delicious empanadas.
Having a chef as a companion really comes in handy these days.

I lost one of my nametags this week ;( I feel like Spongebob without an identity.

I love you all! Spread the gospel!

Con amor,

Hermana Flake

The Sun'll come out..... TOMORROW

Did you also get that weird news report about the eclipse and the 3 days of darkness? Apparently the sun wasnt going to come out today but thankfully it did.I was singing Annie last night just to make sure.
This week was a marvelous one! We are working so much with the members! I am in mission heaven. I've never loved so much being able to participate in Ward Council and plan together Ward mission activities. Our mission leader thought of a great idea of putting up a projector in the main parks of the city with mormon messages and videos of Christ. He says that if we cant get the people of this city to come to Crists church by knocking on doors, we are going to bring the church to THEM in a more interesting way. I love the idea. We are going to start it next month.

We went through our area book this week and swept through every investigator. At the end, we were left with NONE. We had to drop all of them cause they weren't keeping there commitments. Then we started by scratch. We are asking all the members for referrals and we recieved 13 this week! They all want to work with us and we are finding so many more people to teach that way!

One of those is Evelyn, who came to church with us on Sunday and loved it! She is 13 and the young womens took her in like one of their own. I love members. Did I already say that?

Oh yeah, one of the members in our ward is a world championship boxer! her name is Cecilia Comunales Marquez, but she is known around the world as "La Reina" or "The Queen" haha she is the humblest boxer I know! She comes to church dolled up in high heels and make up, you would never think that just last week she won the world boxing championship. We had dinner at hher house the other day, I love their family!
Now we are leaving the apartment every morning to go running and do exercise at the park. I think that will help balance out all the goodies that my comp bakes for me. She is a chef! What a blessing!

Finally gettin those golden birthday letters! I loved them so much! THANK YOU! (Even though Elle apparently thought I was turning 19 hahaha so cute)

I love to see the temple!

Me encanta ver el templo.... I see it every day.

Leavin' on a jet plane to Ghana!
Hola Familia pequeña ahora sin Chavmanfez,

Chavyyyyy The day has arrived! Go do work and make us proud!

My first week in this beautiful place has been a great one. I can't tell you how amazing the ward of Ciudad Evita is! The members are MANY and all of them are so willing to work with us! It is something that I forgot had existed in my 6 months in Las Flores, but I love this side  of missionary work now with the support of a mission leader and so many willing members and YOUTH! My first Sunday here was a dream- they asked me to give one of those "2 minutes before sacrament meeting . ..  surprise!" talks and I just  expressed my love for each one of them cause they are amazing! There was also a ward baptism and the entire ward came!

The Wood family! They came to our ward
on Sunday and the mom just happened to be
from Eager, Arizona, and the Elder going home
just happened to be in Dallin Merrell's
mission! They went home the same week, small world!

I had an awkward "Wait I'm northamerican" moment with the Wood family who came to our Sacrament meeting and I greet all the sisters with a kiss on the cheek! Haha I forgot that that`s not normal at home and I think I scared them. Also when I wanted to tell them "Que les vaya muy bien" or "que tengan buen viaje" I awkwardly muttered out "That you have a great. ..  travel! haha I felt like Brian Reagan "YOU TOWWWWW"

I am convinced that I'll be coming home a little gordita chubby for 3 main reasons:

1. Bye bye to my bike and hello to mud truckin

2. Our neighbors that live below us complain when we do excersize in the morning so we're constrained to stretching and "jumping jacks"

3. Every single home offers us hot chocolate and cookies.

What can ya do.

Saturday we went to the TEMPLE to do contacts outside of it and we had some good results! It is so awesome to be able to walk right up to these Argentines, point to the temple and ask them if they know the purpose of the building, and then to testify that that is one of two places in Argentina where families can be sealed together forever. People love to hear about the idea of an eternal family, because it is something that we all accepted before we came to this earth. I love having the priveledge of being so close to the beautiful Buenos Aires temple! It is such a blessing! I'll probably be saying it again and again because I just feel so grateful!

A cool miracle of the week: We were walking in the street on Saturday when we got a phonecall from a middle aged man who found our number on a card and called us wanting to know when church started the next day. He said he always wanted to go to our church meetings or talk with the Elderes but never had the guts I guess. Well on Sunday he decided to go for real and walked 25 blocks in order to arrive and he absolutely loved every minute of church! We sent him home with a Book of Mormon and lots of church books haha the sad part is he's not in our area but I love it when in stead of us finding people, prepared people find us.

The truth is we don't have a lot of investigators but we soon will because we are talking with everyone! Yesterday we found a family playing volleyball in the park and we joined them. It was a glorious moment because as I was testifying of the Apostacy and Restoration I was bumping, setting and spiking. Double time.

That's all for my week. I am excited to hear about yours! Especially Travis's first one in the mish.

Con amor,

Hermana Flake
The lights went out... so.....

we made our own homemade candle light planning session haha

I Think I'm Gonna Like it Here

MI COMPA!!!! Hermana Muñoz de España!!!!
She is a sweetheart and a chef! I already love her!
All these changes. . . diferrent changes... change after change after change. It gets stranger day by day (Jack Johnson.... look it up)

Well I got transfered, thats why I started singing Jack Johnson. I am going to miss Las Flores so much. Even though it was such a tiny branch and very frustrating at times because we never had too much support in the middle of no where, I really enjoyed it haha. I'll miss the people, Hermana Silva, and the open small town sky and most of all.... MY BIKE. But I am SO excited for this new change, you know why???

Right now I'm in Ciudad Evita. . . .it just HAPPENS to be the area where MOUNT ZION has been planted because the BUENOS AIRES TEMPLE is in my very area!!!! I cannot contain my joy inside! President says that we have permission to take investigators to the temple any time we want. We can give tours, even do proselyting outside of it and answer questions that people have when they come. I could not have recieved a bigger tender mercy! I'll tell ya right now, I am taking advantage of this marvelous opportunity. I am going to preach it in every corner of the street and explain to everyone what temples are for, invite them all to come and see. In all my other areas it was always hard to invite people to visit the temple because we were so far away. Now I can literally take them to the temple. I am so excited. I could keep talking about it for hours but just know that I am SOOO happy about it all.

My new companion is Hermana Muñoz and she is from Spain! (I think by the end of my mission I will have had a companion from every country) She is such a sweetheart! She is 25 and has 6 months in the mission. Hi hijita, Hermana Silva, went straight from her training to being a trainer and she is so ready to do it! There is only one new Hermana coming to our mission this transfer and MI HIJITA is going to train her! I am one proud mommy!

Familia Berasain I'll miss them!!!!
Almendra and her biggest "smile"
Saying goodbye to my fellow Las Floreans was hard but I did it with love. I gave a talk about Missionary work and testified with all my heart that there is hope for Las Flores. I feel like that is what the members have lost, hope. I exorted them with all my heart to not lose that hope, to believe that the branch will grow, and to act accordingly so that it CAN. Then I left them with my testimony as I sang "Joseph Smiths first prayer". I left the town with no regrets. I know I have given my all there and I am now ready to give my all HERE. I love the mission. I love being a servant in God's own hands. I love proclaiming the truth, because I know that it IS the truth. A lot more Argentines are going to meet the temple this transfer. And they are going to recognize that it is the very House of God. Who cannot recognize it as they stand in its presence? We are SO blessed to have temples and the fulness of the gospel.

I have no idea why Charly sent this picture.

Desayuno Americano!!

This girl in the middle is the convert of Shelly Larsons new fiance! Send Shelly the foto!! :)

Rain rain go away, we'd really like to work today.

The rain was rough but it the water was TOADally worth it! (dumdumdumshhh)

We put together an activity and did a MINI THEATRE.. We played "Meet the Mormons" and madea TON of popcorn and had soda and the whole deal! It was great! Not a lot of members came... Only 3, but 5 investigators came so that was a good turnout! haha.

....Besides the popcorn was oh so delicious.
