FELIZ UN AÑO

For my year mark we went to the Lake of Las Flores and saw the Carpinchos again haha I just love those little hippopotomases with fur! They are just like Wombats. Kip ate all the freakin chips so we made ourselves some dang quesadillas! and french fries to top it all off. Hermana Rojas and Hermana Ostler came for an exchange and so it was fun having them  there and getting to see my old blondie again.

I feel so weird knowing that the time is flying so fast but I feel determined to make these last 6 months the very best of them all. I feel like one spends the first year at least learning how to be a missionary haha and then they're left with so little time to put it all in practice.

These last 6 months I am going to consecrate myself in this work, literally lose myself in service. Forget about my own needs or desires and focus on those of the beautiful people of Argentina. They are 6 months that I'll never get back. For now, I feel too blessed to have lived one year in His service. Heavenly Father pays us blessings that are too great to even imagine when we put forth our extra effort and choose to live as the Savior does. I am especially grateful for how I have come to know and love Him. It is a priveledge beyond measure to be able to testify daily of  my Savior, Jesus Christ. I hope to do it the rest of my life.

CAPILLA ABIERTA DE LAS FLORES!

This week was literally one filled with miracles. I just want to declare here and now that the Lord is good, and that he answers our prayers. I had been praying and working good and hard for the Capilla Abierta here in Las Flores. I was the only one in this town with experience or who had an idea of how it needed to go so Elder Pina put me in charge of basically everything! I was a little worried that not a lot of people were gonna come but at the end I realized that it's not about how many it's about how we felt there inside the chapel. And let me tell you I have never felt so much love and unity there before. We worked our tails off in the morning inviting the entire town, 12 more missionaries came to help out and we all split up into different areas to sweep the town with invitations. It was such a cool feeling. Everything went so well. Quite a few of our investigators came and some people that we didnt expect either.

At the end of the event Elder Pina had me stand up in front of everyone and do the wave haha like he always asks me to do, but this time was more victorious than ever because of my love for this town. Even the pioneer who is like 80 plus years old did the wave with us. That's how much excitement we felt that night haha. I gave a talk the next day at church and expressed how grateful I was for the Lord's hand in the work. I declared that miracles exist every day in the Gospel, and that if we can´t see them, we should ask Heavenly Father in prayer to help us see them. The gospel should always be something marvelous to us and should never be something old. We can always learn something new every day.

A man named Chino Pang showed up that we had invited earlier and he loved it! He couln´t understand everything very well but we all reached out in love and he could feel it. He told us that he has a Book of Mormon in Chinese that other missionaries gave him and that he has been reading it.

You may be wondering about all the snow pictures haha. Our district planned a surprise Christmas for the entire zone. I was in charge of stealing the church key like a ninja  so that we could sneak in and decorate it without anyone knowing it was us. AND NO ONE FOUND OUT! That's what I call Secret Santa. #ChristmasinJune

Viva Boyscouts!

Tuesday we had our Zone Conference
and my comp and I decided to arrive
in matching outfits haha we are so
festive and united.
We are getting along too good. I am teaching her the Argentina accent haha and she´s strugglin a bit because sometimes she says words that are real bad in Argentina but in Mexico they´re normal. I think of Pedro "But we do it in Mexico all the time" hahaha

I've told you about Nahuel, he came to church this Sunday all dressed up again with his girlfriend Analia (lessactive member) and Analia was super sick but they came anyways. She bore her testimony and said that they had made a promise to the Lord that they would never miss another Sunday. I love that kind of conversion!

Birthday Surprise - Big 20!!

And this is her shoving my face my
birthday cake. we are officially family.

Yesterday our whole District came here to Las Flores for our activity and meeting. We seriously had too much fun haha. My comp and I made more Mexican tacos and we brought everything to the lake for a taco feast. But when we got there we realized that we forgot firewood to warm up the tortillas haha. I have never been so grateful for Boy Scouts!

The Elderes found pine needles and twigs and started a fire. We all gave them an applause and then 10 minutes later I found an AX can of deodarant hidden, I think they cheated

We also saw the Carpinchos again! They are like mini Hippopotamuses but with fur! They are like giant Wombats! I am among my own kind haha! I'll send pictures of those too.

Today a miracle happened. God answers prayers. I have been praying good and hard for Corina, who got baptized 2 weeks ago and who had disappeared, for so long and wondering why we weren´t able to find her or contact her. Yesterday while we were planning I felt that we needed to go a certain way before writing today. 10 minutes ago God put her in our path on our way to write in cyber. It was the Holy Ghost that told me to look in that direction and even though everythings not solved with what has happened to her these past few weeks, we were able to SEE her and talk to her.
